If your security cameras are powered by power adapters, each camera should have its own power adapter. On the other hand, some models have security cameras that are powered by batteries.
Moreover, most security cameras also feature an additional power adapter that can power up the wireless receiver.
Wall anchors– This is a special type of fastener that let you drive screws into a wall. Most wireless security camera systems feature different wall anchors that allow you to mount security cameras on a wall.
Receiver– A receiver is a device that receives and stores video footage.

Garages: A garage is an entry point that burglars can use to get into your home. Installing a camera in your garage makes it easier for you to monitor your cars, motorbikes, and bicycles. You can place it in the outside part of the garage.
Front doors: Most burglars also use the front door to access your home. A surveillance camera will help you to record video footage of your front door. Since most online eCommerce platforms deliver products at the footstep of your door, most thieves might take advantage of that and steal your items. With a security camera, you can easily track down thieves who stole your items. You can also use a camera on your smart lock.
Backyard: Well, your backyard is another entry point that burglars can use to get into your home. Some might climb through a fence. You can install a camera for monitoring any activities that happen in your backyard. Place it on an elevated spot where burglars can’t reach easily. Outdoor security cameras should be at least nine feet from the ground.

Step by Step Guide to Install Wireless CCTV
Step 1: Get the Tools That Might Be Needed in the Installation Process
Start by getting some of the tools that might be required in this installation. Examples of such tools include drills, pencils, and drill bits. Drill bits can help you drill holes of different sizes on your walls.
Step 2: Make a Plan of the Locations That You Are Planning to Install the Security Cameras
Now before you start this whole process, you have to determine where you will place the CCTV cameras. It makes it easier for you to know how many cameras you need.
Get a copy of your house plan, then mark the spots you want to place the cameras. If you don’t have a copy of your house plan, you can sketch a plan of your house and use it to determine where you will install your cameras. Some of the most common security camera placement spots include porches, off-street windows, rooms, and driveways.
If you plan to place cameras outside your house, choose nice spots that are free from harsh weather conditions. Also, install the cameras at least 10 feet from the ground. While outdoor cameras are designed to be very durable, choosing a nice spot can increase the lifespan of such cameras.

Step 3: Prep the Spots Where You Are Installing the Security Camera
Most home security cameras feature a drill template that guides you while drilling holes on your walls. Just place the template on the wall, sketch the shape of the mounting plates and the position of the holes.
If your security cameras don’t have a drilling template, you can place the mounting plate of the camera on the wall, then sketch its shape and the position of the holes. It guides you as you are drilling holes.
After that, use a drill to make holes in the wall. Place wall anchors on the holes, then use a hammer to drive the wall anchors into the holes.
Step 4: Install the Surveillance Cameras on an Indoor/Outdoor Wall
If your camera comes with an antenna that is not attached to the body, you have to attach it to the body of the camera before installing your security cameras.

Place the mounting plate in the mark that you had sketched earlier on. The holes on the mounting plate should align with wall anchors that are on the wall.
Once you place the camera in the right position, use a drill to fasten the screws into the wall. Fasten a screw on each hole. Repeat the same procedure on the other cameras, then tilt the camera at a certain angle to get perfect footages.
While some wireless cameras come with power cables, some are powered by a battery. If your wireless CCTV camera has a power cord, you have to place it close to a power source.
Once you mount a camera on a wall, run the wire along the wall and connect it to the power source. Use cable clips to secure the power cables of the cameras to the wall.
Configuring an NVR to Receive Signal From the Surveillance Camera
While installing cameras on your walls is a crucial step, the whole surveillance system won’t work until you configure the NVR correctly.
An NVR box is a device that is used to capture and store data from a wireless surveillance camera.

Install the Hard Disk
Most NVR boxes do not come with a pre-installed hard disk, so you have to install the hard disk on your own. Just unfasten the screws on the NVR box, and remove the casing that covers it. Connect the hard disk to the motherboard using some of the cables that are found on the motherboard. Place the hard disk on the NVR box. After that, align it to the holes that are found on the lower casing of the NVR. Fasten screw into those holes to mount the hard disk to the NVR box.
Return the upper casing to its initial position, then fasten it to the NVR box with screws.
Power the NVR Box
Connect the power supply cable to the NVR box. After that, connect it to a monitor using an HDMI cable. If you are going to use the HDMI cable, you don’t have to use the VGA port to connect the box to the monitor. Then, put the power on. The NVR box will display a user interface. If your hard disk had some information, you have to format it before connecting the receiver to the cameras. While NVR boxes have different user interfaces, they have different settings that allow you to format the disk.
Once you format the disk, the video footages will be displayed on the monitor on your screen. Most cameras can transmit signals over a wide range. Make sure that your cameras are in the transmission range.
Connect the NVR System to Your Mobile Phone
Most wireless surveillance systems come with options that allow you to set up your phone in a certain way so that you can monitor your house from a remote location. Such systems have apps that can be installed on your phone, which show you live footage of your home.
Before you start this process, you have to connect the NVR box to an ethernet cable and then keep it online to access footages.
Most security systems have an IPR code that makes it easier to install the app. The IPR code can be found on the user interface of the home security system. You can also find the IPR on the user manual of the home system.
Once you download the app, create a username and key in your login password that you are going to use. After that, add the device you want to stream the footage from (choose the NVR system setup). Connect your phone to the wifi network. After that, wait for the app to connect to your NVR system.
Everything will be displayed on your phone’s screen. You can also display the live footage from one camera at full screen.
Improve Your Home Security
With wireless CCTV cameras, you can easily improve the security in your home. When you know how to install wireless CCTV at home, you can put them in different places such as your driveway, backyard, and front door. While cameras can be used to record footages, they can also scare away burglars. Not to mention, such systems give you the ability to such footages from your phone. Also, make sure that you use a large hard drive that can store large data. Any hard drive with a storage space of 1 TB and above might be suitable for you.
